JAPAN AT WAR
Japan was the very sole reason why US got involved into World War II. Why? Well, its surprise attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 is mostly to blame. They had attacked the US in hopes that it would destroy the US fleet in the Pacific and that Roosevelt Administration would accept Japanese domination of the Pacific. In fact, the longing for the domination of the Pacific is the very reason why Japan got involved into the world conflict in the first place. So, to prevent the US from interfering with their plans in expanding southwards in the Pacific on European colonies, they launched the the surprise military strike on Pearl Harbor.
In total, the attack on Pearl Harbor killed/injured more than 3,500 Americans, damaged/destroyed 350 aircrafts, and damaged/sunk 18 ships. The attack was so unexpected, shocking many Americans into action (unifying opinion that they should got involved in the war) instead of what Japan had been hoping for. That was exactly what they did as the US declared war on Japan on the December 8th, a day after the attack.
